The IRCC Afghanistan Resettlement Initiative & Launch of N4's Afghan Resettlement Toolkit
To help address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, the Government of Canada plans to resettle at least 40,000 vulnerable Afghans. Since August, 2021, Canada has welcomed over 7,500 Afghan nationals. John Biles, acting Director-General of the Afghanistan Settlement Branch at the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, will provide an overview of the Afghanistan Resettlement initiative since the summer of 2021, with an emphasis on health-related protocols, coordination and challenges, including related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following this, N4's Community of Practice Co-Leads will share a tool recently developed to support professionals from healthcare, settlement, education and other public-serving sectors in providing equitable access and services to Afghan newcomers.
