Health Equity Rounds in the ED: How Medical Education Can Address Health Inequities
This webinar is pre-recorded from the 2022 N4 Conference.

Description
To fight discrimination and inequities within medicine, we first need to create spaces to talk about them. Join Eleni and Fahad as they share an initiative piloted in the emergency department of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario where physicians, nurses, social workers, and medical trainees discuss cases of health inequity and the tangible improvements made to pediatric emergency care.

Dr. Fahad Masud, Pediatric Emergency Physician, CHEO
Dr. Fahad Masud is a pediatric emergency physician at CHEO and an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine. He completed his medical school at the University of Toronto, and then pediatric residency at McMaster University followed by pediatric emergency fellowship at CHEO. He is an active member of the CHEO equity, diversity, inclusion taskforce, and also sits on the Canadian Pediatric Society Anti-Racism Taskforce. He is also part of a team that has introduced Health Equity Round's at CHEO which look to identify health inequity and implement solutions to these. His interests are to identify policies and practices that exacerbate health inequities, and to actively instill antiracist policies into all of aspects of healthcare.
